Lead Solution Architect

About the Role

As a Lead Solution Architect, you play a strategic and technical key role in the organization's digital transformation. You translate business needs into sustainable technological solutions and hold end-to-end responsibility for IT and AI architecture.

Together with a team of IT architects and AI specialists, you shape a modern, scalable and resilient architecture. You report directly to the CTO/CIO/Director Digital and act as the chair of the Architecture Board, where you take the final decisions on solution designs.

Your Responsibilities



Architecture & Technology

  • Develop Enterprise & Solution Architecture: capability maps, target architecture and standardized building blocks.

  • Build and maintain the architecture runway.

  • Translate business requirements into scalable and future-proof solutions.

  • Create and oversee the organization's technology roadmap.

  • Evaluate and select key technology platforms (e.g., Azure, Salesforce, Dynamics 365).

Data, AI & Integration

  • Define and implement the AI strategy, governance and monitoring.

  • Set integration standards: API-first, event-driven design, API governance and iPaaS policies.

Security & Governance

  • Work closely with the CISO on security-by-design, threat modeling, secure patterns, Zero Trust and NIS2/GDPR compliance.

  • Oversee governance processes: compliance reviews, tech debt management, lifecycle management and steering committee participation.

Leadership

  • Lead, coach and further develop the architecture team.

  • Handle recruitment, talent development and performance management.

Your Profile

  • At least 8-10 years of relevant experience, including 3-5 years in a lead or managerial architecture role.

  • Strong technical and functional understanding; able to connect business context with IT solutions.

  • Experience with cloud platforms such as Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365 and Salesforce.

  • Familiarity with AI initiatives, data-driven architectures and integration patterns.

  • Excellent stakeholder and executive communication skills (EN/FR/NL).

  • Experience with project methods such as Scrum, PM² or Prince2 is a plus.

  • Relevant certifications (TOGAF, Azure Architect Expert, SAFe, Scrum Master/PO) are considered an asset.
